How to Get Your Life Back Together After Fucking Everything Up

Categories:

man

The past year has been a complete whirlwind for me.

One moment, you’re on top of the world—everything is going great. You’ve got an amazing lifestyle and great women in your life. You’re in great shape, you’re making bank, and you’re happy as could be.

And then, life hits you in the face with a fucking cinder block.

That lifestyle you enjoyed so much disappears. The women leave you. You get out of shape. You start to go into debt. Everything goes to shit.

We’ve all been there, right? Well, if this is you, bud, then you need to read this. It’s time to get your life back in order.

SAFL’s and Spirals

upward spiral growth

Ever wonder why the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer? Ever wonder why guys with tons of girls always find it easier to get MORE girls?

Or maybe you’ve noticed how guys that have great lifestyles just seem to get happier and happier every day. Why is that?

It’s because momentum, whether positive or negative, is hard to stop. Your life is a self-amplifying feedback loop.

Everything bleeds into everything else. You can’t go through a brutal divorce and have your health, finances, and happiness remain untouched.

Likewise, you can’t start making more money without attracting more women into your life. Then, when you attract more women into your life, you become happier, and you attract more cool dudes into your life.

This is because like attracts like—the 4th energetic law of the universe. Success attracts more success, and failure attracts more failure.

If you want to take control of your life, this is absolutely crucial for you to understand. The reason why everything seems to suddenly go to shit in your life, is because, like a chain of dominoes, one thing went bad, which led to another, and another, and another.

The Downward Spiral

The most common example I see of this downward spiral is when men stop caring about their physical health. It starts off slow, of course, and there’s always a justification for their laziness and indulgence.

“I have to work really late tonight,” you’ll say. So instead of going for a run or lifting weights, you’ll just stay in the office. Then, the next time around, maybe instead of ordering a salad with grilled steak, you’ll just order a cheeseburger with fries.

“Ah, it’s only once,” you’ll say. Haha, right. Only once.

This supposed one time event will eventually become a common occurrence. Now, before you know it, you’re overweight, your cholesterol is sky high, and you feel like crap. Then, what do you think this does? Do you think this is an isolated issue? Of course not—it will bleed into every other area of your life.

You’ll stop caring so much about your appearance, and your style. You’ll watch more TV, because it’s easier than going to the gym…and it’s late anyways, right?

The women in your life will slowly stop seeing you more and more, you’ll start having less energy to do well at work…and before you know it, you’ve hit rock bottom.

“What went wrong?” you’ll ask. You know what went fucking wrong. It started with you not taking care of yourself, and if you want to get back on track, that’s where you have to start, too.

Start With The Body

“To keep the body in good health is a duty, otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear.” -Buddha

James ‘Mad Dog’ Mattis, our current Secretary of Defense, is a man of sheer will. His career has spanned over 4 decades, and after years of intense training and service, he’s now one of the highest ranking US military officials alive.

One day, a teenage boy asked him a question at a press conference. “How do I become more disciplined,” he asked. The boy had been slacking off in many areas of his life, resorting to playing video games and eating junk food all day.

Mad Dog Mattis stared at him, and uttered one sentence: “Do more physical stuff.”

As simple as this sounds, it really is the secret to building discipline. When your body is strong, your mind is strong—you build mental strength by first focusing on building physical strength.

My Downward Spiral Experience

Do you see that picture above? That was me just a year ago—a whopping 185 pounds of pure muscle, coming in at 6% bodyfat.

What do I look like now? Well, certainly not as good as I did there, to say the least. The past year has been absolutely insane for me, and began my descent into a downward spiral.

It started with a massive revelation I had about my past—everything I thought I knew turned out to be a complete lie. Memories were regained and I finally saw myself, and my family, for what we were.

From here, I stopped working out as much. I became lazy and depressed, and the lack of physical exercise only made this worse. Then, I stopped focusing so much on my diet. I began immersing myself in work, so I had very little time to eat properly.

On top of this, I’d been building up two other websites, and I got a job writing for Info Wars. What little free time I had became occupied with alcohol, staying out late, and partying. I began to spend FAR too much money on being a degenerate.

…and while this wasn’t necessarily bad, as I did have some great times, it became far too out of balance. I got a DUI that cost a hefty bunch of money. I kept waking up at 2pm hungover, with zero focus or energy. Most of my harem went back to their hometowns (I live in a college town) for the summer. Life has been pretty shitty.

Now, however, it’s time for me to get my life back on track, and I’m going to show you how you can do the same.

Make The Decision NOW

masculine development tony robbins quote

One of the best pieces of insight I’ve ever gotten from Tony Robbins, is that you should NEVER leave the spot of making a decision, without taking some kind of action.

You want to stop drinking? Don’t just tell yourself you’ll start tomorrow—start now. Go into your fridge, grab all of your liquor, and throw it in to a fucking dumpster.

You want to start learning game as a newbie? Don’t tell yourself you’ll do it this weekend. Go out to the mall, or to Amazon, and order some stylish clothes right now. Or better yet, go out to a night club, RIGHT NOW, and start.

You’re going to stop waking up at 12pm, and start waking up at 6am? Great—then set your fucking alarm, even if you’re only going to get 3 hours of sleep. Start now.

Procrastination is the enemy of success, and what’s worse is that procrastination often leads to a complete lack of action. If you’re serious about getting your shit together, make the decision to do it RIGHT NOW, and take some sort of action to cement the decision into your life; to make it real.

It doesn’t have to be massive action, just do something. Set an alarm, download a calorie counting app, throw out your ice cream, start a detox, order a stylish leather jacket, buy a book on marketing or business…just do SOMETHING!

Upward Spiral (Stage 1)

Once you start to take control of your life, everything will begin to go up. Start with your body—ALWAYS start with your body.

Your body is the vehicle that you use to navigate through life. If you have a strong, powerful body filled to the brim with energy and testosterone, you’ll be more effective at everything you do. Period.

Start working out. I personally recommend my Body of an Alpha routine, but you can do whatever the hell you want. Start eating healthy. Do you drink filtered water? If not, you’re getting a daily dose of xenoestrogens, IQ-destroying fluoride, and probiotic-killing chlorine.

Eat lots of leafy greens. Kale, spinach, broccoli, and sprouts are great for you—for fruit, mainly focus on berries. Blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries are the highest in antioxidants. Avoid simple starches, except immediately post-workout.

Try to do cardio several days a week. It doesn’t have to be a 45 minute jogging spree. Just a quick 10 minute set of sprints or daily walk is enough, if you’re also lifting weights regularly. Take care of your body, and it will take care of you.

Get 9 hours of sleep every night. Throw out all of the junk food, alcohol, cigarettes, and drugs—those are for celebration, not daily dependence. Start doing a quick and easy morning routine, like this one. Take a cold shower, say some affirmations, and meditate for 10 or 20 minutes each morning to start the day.

Upward Spiral (Stage 2)

Now that your physical health is improving, it’s time to start getting your financial life in order. While physical health is the foundation for your life, money is right above it. Without enough money, you will struggle to enjoy life.

Read The Millionaire Fast Lane. Look into making niche websites, learn about SEO, and figure out what skills you have that are marketable. Learn how to advertise your products and services through Google, Facebook, and other mediums.

Start taking this shit seriously. Get your fucking finances handled, because nobody else is going to do it for you.

Don’t buy luxury items until you’re making at least 6 figures, preferably 7. Spend your money on books, classes, seminars, and investments. Forget instant gratification—live like a peasant for 2 years so you can live like a king for the rest of your life.

Your newfound energy from working out, eating right, and recovering properly, will improve your brain power—do not waste this. Use it to learn new things, improve your skill set, and make more money.

Upward Spiral (Stage 3)

Now that you’ve got your health and finances in order, it’s time to start branching out. This phase is marked by your ability to BALANCE all areas of your life, and still grow in each one of them.

Start automating your systems. Create structures that will make money while you sleep, siphon new women into your life every week, and save you time. Cut out the 80% of bullshit that’s only giving you 20% of the results, and double down on the 20% that’s giving you 80% of the results.

This phase is paradoxically one of the hardest, yet also one of the easiest. It’s easy, because by now you have a lot of money, great health, and focus, but you must learn how to BALANCE it with having an enjoyable lifestyle.

Many men have trouble doing this, but it’s the true mark of a successful man. A lot of people can work 80 hour weeks and make 7 figures a year, but not many people can make 7 figures a year, be in good shape, be happy, have great relationships, and still have free time to pursue hobbies.

This is the goal: ultimate lifestyle balance. It isn’t easy, and it will certainly take years, but you’re not getting any younger, so you’d best start now.

Summary

make money online internet money

I’ve had a hell of a hard time over the past year, but it’s time to get back on track. I’m going to start with my body, as you should too.

Download Body of an Alpha, and read it cover to cover. Take notes if you have to. Write down the routine, take note of the nutrition advice, and keep the recovery tactics in mind. Start improving your health, NOW.

This is what spurred me to change—when I got into working out, everything else got easier, because I felt better, had more energy, and had more motivation.

Start reading books; educate yourself. Keep up with the stock market, learn how to start a business, expand your network, and grow your skills. Start learning how to balance everything in your life, and eventually, you’ll be living the millionaire lifestyle in no time.

Nice piece and all, but “Mad Dog” Mattis is a neocon baby-boomer d-bag who is a total hack for the establishment, spends lots of time fear-mongering about and promoting the “right enemies” and is not cool at all, not even slightly.

I’m glad to hear your life is back on track, Jon.
What happened that got you into the negative spiral?

Lots of personal shit and family stuff that came out of nowhere. That led to not sleeping well, which led to not hitting the gym much, less motivation, etc. Just spiraled downwards from there.

This is an EXCELLENT article and should be required reading. This has happened to me and the longer you wait to fight back the more difficult it becomes TO fight back because now you’re older.. Time waits for NO man. Keep up the good work!

Hi Jon,
Great stuff. I like that you are open about who you are.

I work out, meditate, read a lot, writing a book. The only thing I lack is money but to be honest that’s something that does not drive me. I’m ok with money but not rich.

My achilles heel is escorts. I fell for one escort the first second I set eyes on her. That messed me up emotionaly and still has an effect on me.

I can talk to women just fine but I am too lazy to put myself out there. Money I spend on escorts I could definately put to better use. I also feel less of a man by paying for it.

I think you could write a good article about the dangers of paying for escorts. I have nothing bad to say about the women who choose that work but I think it can be detrimental to a man’s emotional state.

Ah yes, I was coaching a man who had the same problem. When you have a lot of $$$ that can be a serious temptation, but tbh the feeling you get from pulling a girl due to your own personality and charisma is 1,000x better than paying for a hooker.

@Sean Boner

If you could indulge me good sir; what does all that entail? I mean how does one get an escort? How does the transaction go down? Is it guaranteed sex? Legal? Where and how you meet and contact? Stuff like that. Just curious.
